Persimmons

Persimmons is an interactive book translating a poem into art through linguistic analysis and code. Words taken from each passage of Li-Young Lee’s poem, “Persimmons”, are run through Processing; the reader’s interaction with the book transforms the text’s phonetic structures into generated patterns. Line_Boundary_Trace

An experimental publication (160 pages, 5” X 7.5”) which explores the border as a divisive line from the dual perspectives of humans and machines. As images of different locations become distilled into a singular gestural stroke, losing specificity and familiarity, the book is a speculative archive as well as a challenge to the arbitrariness in which we lay claim to our borders. re:connections Exhibition

Exhibition graphics and online degree show displaying work by CalArt’s 2021 graduated MFA cohort in Art, Photography & Media, and Art & Technology. The design of the digital site, which acts as documentation of the physical show held at Tin Flats, Los Angeles, draws upon the colon as a visual and linguistic signifier of connection, and of expansion. BUCK x Living Room

Living Room was designed as a high-end space in Los Angeles, with luxury recording studios, libraries, and lounges, to become the premium, global destination of music exploration and art discovery. Working along with BUCK’s team (CD: Camille Chu, AD: Emily Simms, Sr Designer: Abbie Winters), I helped build off of an existing logotype to develop an extensive brand system, guidelines, and member’s book showcasing the classic elegance of Living Room.

FLAT Journal

A redesign of FLAT Journal’s website, a digital platform for critical texts and contemporary experiments within media arts. Inspired by the history of skeuomorphism in early computer graphics, the website creates a new representation of editorial layouts for the browser. Different sections layer over each other on the landing page, creating a flat landscape of pages which are shuffled through to be read. Read more ︎︎︎
